3G Food Service expands its range of frozen prawns

1st August 2007, 4:20pm

3G Food Service, the specialist distributor to the food service sector, has expanded its range of frozen prawns, to give caterers an even wider selection of this popular seafood.

Full details are included in the re-categorised prawn section of 3G's latest Product Guide, which has been re-designed to help caterers choose the most suitable product for their menus.

Newly listed products include Whole Raw Black Tiger Prawns, Cooked and Peeled Large Luxury Prawns and Whole Cooked North Atlantic Prawns. Whole Cooked King Prawns (Crevettes) and Raw, Peeled and Deveined Black Tiger Prawns are also available.

Ben Smales, Managing Director of 3G Food Service said, "Prawns are a popular choice on any menu, but with so many different products available it can sometimes be difficult to choose the right one. That's why we've re-categorised the prawn section in our latest Product Guide - to help caterers choose the right product for application far more easily."

He continued….

"We're very selective in choosing suppliers of our prawn products. For example, all prawns need a protective ice glaze to prevent damage during transit, but some suppliers use excessive glaze in order to add weight and offer what appears to be a cheaper priced product. To help customers we declare a gross and nett weight in our Product Guide. We also feature a price per prawn figure, which is unique to 3G. This ensures our customers know exactly what they're ordering, and are guaranteed value for money."

The 3G range includes a wide selection of both warm water and cold water prawns.  Whole Raw Black Tiger Prawns (pictured) are provided in 1kg (gross) packs, with a choice of prawn count per kg. Prices range from £7.00 to £25.00 per pack.

Full details of all products and orders can be obtained by calling the 3G Food Service Sales Hotline on 0870 850 5213 or by visiting the company's website at www.3gfoodservice.co.uk. Customers can also register online to regularly receive latest information, Product Guides and product updates.
