ARAMARK wins top health and safety award

9th June 2009, 12:49pm

ARAMARK, the contract catering and facilities company, is celebrating after winning two awards at the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

ARAMARK UK received the 'highly commended' in the Hotel and Catering Sector award and ARAMARK Offshore was awarded the 'Presidents' award, one of the highest honours.

Andrew Main, chief executive officer at ARAMARK said: "It is a great tribute to our entire UK team of colleagues to have been recognised once more at these prestigious awards. Everyone has worked immensely hard to achieve this recognition and we are particularly proud of the way everyone is putting the safety of themselves and their colleagues first.

"This has been a particularly successful year for the company with ARAMARK Offshore picking up the 'Presidents' award. The business works incredibly hard to uphold ambitious goals to continuously improve health and safety, engaging the entire Offshore workforce from board level downwards, sharing learning's across the business and embedding strategic plans to develop best practice, compliance reporting, leadership and safety mentoring."

David Rawlings, RoSPA Awards Manager, said: "ARAMARK has shown a commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of its employees and others. Entering the RoSPA Awards reinforces the message that good health and safety is good for business, and clearly demonstrates an organisations dedication to improving performance in this crucial area."
