2nd June 2008, 12:52pm

A team of 20 ARAMARK employees will be taking part in the Five Peak Challenge later this month to pledge their support and commitment to their Corporate Responsibility programme.

The employees, joined by chief executive officer Andrew Main, will embark on an ambitious hike of Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic's five highest mountains – totalling 17,336 feet in just 48 hours.

Talking about the challenge, which will take place on 11 June, Val Carter, corporate responsibility director, said: "20 people are taking part from all areas of the company, 12 undertaking the physical climb and eight support staff providing water, food, medical assistance and driving to and from each peak to ensure the climbers meet the deadlines set."

Last year, over £54,000 was raised for the corporate charity and this year the Challenge and a race day, it is hoped they will reach £60,000 for Childline and Macmillan Nurses.
