Aramark presents first corporate responsibility award

30th March 2009, 9:56am

Contract caterer Aramark is continuing to reward responsible business practice, by launching its first ever Corporate Responsibility award for suppliers.

Val Carter, Aramark's corporate responsibility director, explained more: "Aramark's CR strategy is based on a deeper, broader and wider approach to positively impacting the workplace, marketplace, environment and community.

"As a business, we already have excellent examples of working in communities, sustainable procurement, healthy eating strategies and employee welfare activities and we wanted to extend this to our suppliers.

"By launching the CR Supplier award we are demonstrating to our partners the importance that we give to responsible business practice and rewarding those that have taken CR most seriously."

The 2008 CR award was presented to Suzy Newman, national account manager for Unilever Foodsolutions. The supplier coordinated a range of CR activities at Aramark sites including 'Heart Health' testing days with the Flora team and promoting ethical choices using Hellmann's Mayonnaise.

Claire Sullivan, marketing director at Unilever Foodsolutions said: "We're delighted to be presented with Aramark's CR Supplier Award. Making a positive social and environmental impact is embedded in Unilever's values and it's great to be recognised for our ongoing commitment to responsible business practice."
