CITY LAW FIRM OPTS FOR CHARLTON HOUSE

18th March 2008, 9:47am

City law firm, Speechly Bircham, has appointed Charlton House to manage catering services at its new corporate headquarters at 6 New Street Square, Holborn, London.

The firm is due to move to its new premises in early May when a team of twelve Charlton House staff will oversee a staff restaurant and extensive hospitality services for the 200-lawyer firm.

The three-year contract is worth £600K in annual turnover.

In the meantime, the independent caterers have taken over hospitality services from the incumbents, Restaurant Associates, since 3rd March at Speechly Bircham's existing offices in St Andrews Street, Holborn.

Liz Cummins, Charlton House business development manager, said: "The move to New Street Square marks a first for Speechly Bircham in that they will be introducing staff catering facilities for the first time. Naturally, the partners were very keen to ensure the very best standards for their staff, and we feel very proud that our food, people and distinctive approach to business have met their extremely high standards.

"Our challenge on the hospitality side is to entice partners to bring client entertainment and fine dining back in-house. David Cavalier and his brigade of executive chefs will be making their mark by introducing Michelin-style food, which will be on par if not better than commercial restaurants standards."

Charlton House now has an annual turnover of £70 million and employs 1,900 people nationwide. Clients include Her Majesty's Treasury, BUPA and The RIBA (The Royal Institute of British Architects).
