The two year contract, won by Compass' retail business after a competitive tender and Compass' first contract with the university, is worth an annual turnover of £338k.
Compass will install and operate a So Deli outlet together with hospitality, in the newly built Hauser Forum building, a new, mixed-use development at the University's West Cambridge site, made possible thanks to a £8 million donation by the Hauser-Raspe Foundation.
Comprising of two buildings, the Hauser Forum will be home to Cambridge Enterprise, the Idea Space, Seminar Centre and the Café Atrium.
Lynn King, business director-retail, Specialist Markets, at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: "We are really looking forward to working with the University on the opening of their first tendered catering service. Our retail offer is growing and expanding into more sites nationwide and the opening of the first catering service for the University of Cambridge is a significant landmark."
