Louise Wymer, director at the Catering Academy, has made it to the final of the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award.

The Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year award, now in its 37th year, celebrates entrepreneurial women who have made a substantial contribution to business life. Each nominee was judged, not only on financial results and commercial success but increasingly on how each business embedded social and environmental responsibility within their businesses.

Wymer impressed the panel with her devotion to the use of regional suppliers for all fresh produce paired with her drive to supply healthy eating agendas and develop successful food solutions for a vast array of clients.

She commented on her success: "To receive such a prestigious nomination and to be recognised amongst some of the most successful businesswomen in the country is such an honour for me and the team.

"The success of our business is all down to a continual commitment and drive from every single member of Team Academy and this achievement is as much theirs as it is mine."

Sally Warmington, brand director of Veuve Clicquot, added: "This year we have nominated four women who have embedded social and environmental responsibility within the heart of their business in addition to delivering a healthy balance sheet. The move reflects the ever-changing nature of business practice and our desire to showcase four women who fully embrace the nature of the awards and can provide inspiration for other up and coming entrepreneurs in the future."

The winner of the award will be announced next week (23 March).
