Catering Academy predicts 2009 turnover of £20m

23rd July 2009, 10:29am

The Catering Academy appears to be bucking the economic downturn as sales figures show the company is on track to deliver a turnover of £20 million, just five years after the business was started.

Director, Kevin Cannon explained more: "The success of the company's dynamic service stems from the loyalty and quality of our team members and our continual commitment to the use of fresh food sourced from our network of local suppliers.

"The growth of the business has been supported by the introduction of two new Board Directors, Phil Smith and Denise Marks in 2008, allowing us to keep senior management close to our clients and bolster our infrastructure thus improving the overall service offering of Catering Academy."

It's been rapid growth for the company which now operates from four sites in Warrington, Hamilton, Tamworth and Oxford. 2009 is the business' fifth year of trading and the company is expecting a £20m turnover; up over 33% on 2008's figures.

In 2007, the Catering Academy became national finalists in HSBC's 2007 'Start Up Stars Awards'.

Significant contract wins this year across the business and education sectors include; The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cotswold Council, Stockton Riverside College (incorporating the new Bede College), Cheshire Police headquarters, University of Manchester UMIC and Culcheth High School.
