Catering expert Cucina refreshes its website

Catering expert Cucina has refreshed its website to help engage with its pupils, parent and staff.

Cucina, which has a growing following on Facebook and Twitter, is engaging with pupils, parents and staff with interactive free jungle games on their new site: www.cucina.co.uk

Pupils can download step-by-step recipes with iPhone apps and Cucina is also launching an online food store showcasing goods produced fresh at its restaurants. The foodstore also contains the Cucina cookbook with original recipes from Cucina's award-winning chefs.

The new Cucina website also includes a staff zone, where colleagues can logon to share information on recipes and gain access to health and safety data too.

Cucina managing director Steve Quinn said: "The new Cucina website is a fantastic way to engage with our customers both exisiting and potential; we want to bring the subject of food to life! It's an interactive website and unique in that all the images of food are 'real life' shots taken in our Restaurants as we go about our daily service.

"At Cucina, we teach the pupils through their tastebuds, to try new things and experiment with food. As educators, we all want students to eat better, and yet their dining choices are very rarely influenced by overt health messages, or tables groaning with crunchy vegetables.

"The major drivers continue to be taste, cost and convenience. Our food is healthy, but we prefer to hide goodness in popular choices. The more that students like our food, the more they eat with us. Then, with the help of chefs and kitchen staff, they start to try other options."

Cucina Restaurants Ltd. serves fresh food to more than 25,000 pupils at 29 contracts up and down the country and is committed to providing quality, healthy meals at all schools.
