Catermasters provides another 'One Water' PlayPump

Children in South Africa are now enjoying clean drinking water and making the most of an invaluable opportunity to live a longer and happier life, thanks to the spring water sales generated by contract catering specialist, Catermasters.

The Leamington-based company – which lists the Williams F1 team, Oxfam and Oxford University Press among its list of clients – was the first UK caterer to pledge its support to the 'One Water' charity that aims to provide clean drinking water to children across the world's second largest continent.

Today, Catermasters predominantly supplies 'One Water' bottled spring water through its various contract catering outlets.

Every penny of profit that is generated through sales of 'One Water' is used to build PlayPump water pumping systems and Catermasters is thrilled that, with the support of its clients, it has been able to provide funding for another priceless PlayPump in South Africa.

The company has previously supported the installation of three other pumps – one of which was at the Dinokana children's home and another at the Madimola village, both in the northwest province.

"We've been supporting this invaluable initiative for some time and the entire company is overjoyed that we have been able to provide another pump and the chance of a healthier existence to so many children," Richard Moody, joint Managing Director of Catermasters, explained.

"When you consider that two million people die every year from water-related disease – many of which are in South Africa – you quickly get an idea of how important the work of 'One Water' is and it's a privilege to be involved."

'One Water' spokeswoman, Kelly Phillips, welcomed Catermasters strong support and said: "We are delighted that Catermasters has chosen to support us by driving such strong awareness of One Water with its customers. The company has now helped to give more than 10,000 people in Africa clean and free water. We look forward to funding many more PlayPumps with Catermasters in the future."
