Catermasters, a supplier of workplace catering, has been appointed by Mitsubishi Electric to provide the catering and hospitality services at its UK headquarters in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Catermasters was selected after a successful tender bid. Mitsubishi representatives said they were particularly impressed by what they saw when Catermasters invited them to visit another of their similarly sized contract sites, Iveco's European HQ in Watford.

The catering company will now be required to cater for 150 staff at its UK HQ and will provide a breakfast and lunch service, as well as a trolley service, VIP hospitality when required, best quality Sushi for visiting VIPs, 'bean to cup' coffee and vended drinks and confectionary.

James Hobson, Mitsubishi's facilities manager, said: "Having a capable and enthusiastic caterer is critical to this site and I was very comfortable with Catermasters' professional approach, support resources and commitment to us during the tender process. We are very much looking forward to enjoying a long and successful relationship."

Richard Moody, joint managing director of Catermasters, said: "Like us, Mitsubishi Electric is very much a people focused business and that is why I strongly believe we fit so well together. For instance, Mitsubishi would like to celebrate important birthdays by presenting homemade birthday cakes created by the catering team. That's absolutely no problem to us – we consider it to be all part of our service."
