Charlton House retains Regent's College contract

Charlton House has retained its contract worth £4.4 million in annual turnover for a further five years at Regent's College in the heart of Regent's Park, London.

As well as continuing to manage staff and student catering and conferencing, the independent caterers will assist the college in developing its outside special events business within its extensive and unique grounds.

Hospitality accounts for almost a third of the catering budget as the college runs an extensive schedule of conferences, seminars and high-profile social events. As well as a modern refectory, Regent's College has a deli bar, coffee bar, café and brasserie, student bar and 58 conference rooms.

Commenting on the retention, Nico Prinsloo, Charlton House director of business development, said:  "We are absolutely delighted to have extended our contract with Regent's College. Our goal now is to build on our seven year's success and use our commercial experience and expertise to develop the special events side of the business.

"We will be working closely with our colleagues at Chester Boyd to ensure that Regent's College and its extensive grounds in central London become a highly desirable venue for commercial and private clients."

Professor Aldwyn Cooper, chief executive of Regent's College said: "Charlton House faced some strong competition in winning this contract.  In the end, the factors that weighed most heavily in their favour were not only the food but their understanding of the complex interaction of all elements of our business and the way in which all of those engaged in preparing for the response to the tender worked as a real team.

"The feedback from staff across the campus about Charlton House's appointment as preferred suppliers has been very positive from students, staff, trustees, clients, suppliers and visitors."
