Charlton House has retained its catering contract with the National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Bay.

The new five-year deal is worth £750K in annual turnover and will officially start on 5th September 2011.

Charlton House first gained the contract in 2006.  The on-site team of 30 Charlton House staff will now continue to provide substantial catering and hospitality services for approximately 650 on site each day, plus visitors and guests.

The catering operation involves managing a restaurant, a retail outlet, a busy public café and two Members' Tea Rooms - one within the Assembly and the other within the Senedd building overlooking Cardiff Bay.

Monmouthshire man, Tim Jones, co-founder and chairman of CH&Co, the group name behind the Charlton House brand, said: "It makes me very proud to be involved in such a prestigious Welsh contract and very honoured that our client at the NAfW has made this decision.

"It's a reflection of our understanding of our client's needs over the years and our ability to support, adapt and improve the service during changing times. We have been able to demonstrate significant cost savings to ensure value for money, whilst keeping food and service standards consistently high.

"Undoubtedly, our use of great local suppliers has been key to the success of this catering operation and we will continue to showcase the very best of Welsh produce."
