4th January 2010, 10:29am

Charlton House has been awarded the most prized catering contract in the City - the Mansion House.

Under an initial three-year contract, the independent caterers will take over on 1st February, and will cater for their first Mayoral Banquet on 11th February. In addition, Charlton House will provide private catering services to the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress and family.

Mansion House is the private residence of the Lord Mayor, the Lady Mayoress and their family, a base for the Lord Mayor's Office and a department of the City of London Corporation.

Alison Tyler, managing director of Charlton House, said: "Having made the strategic decision in 2007 to enter the highly competitive City of London livery sector, this achievement is far beyond our expectations. We could never have imagined at that time winning such a prestigious contract so soon.

"To be chosen as caterers to the Mansion House is a remarkable testament to the excellent team of people within our business and to Charlton House's continuous delivery of outstanding food and service standards throughout the City and beyond."
