Charlton House wins contract with Avery Weigh-Tronix

19th October 2009, 9:51am

Charlton House has gained a three year catering contract with Avery Weigh-Tronix, one of the largest industrial weighing companies in the world.

The independent caterers took over from the incumbents, Olive Catering, on 1st September, following the completion of a newly designed, bistro-style staff catering facility.

They now provide breakfast, lunch and hospitality services to 480 staff at Avery Weigh Tronix's UK corporate headquarters in Foundry Lane, Smethwick, Birmingham. The site has approximately 480 staff.

Nico Prinsloo, business development director of Charlton House, said: "Our new client wanted to work with caterers who could not only cater for the diverse range of tastes on site but who could also offer a range of support services and resources in addition to a quality, service-driven offer.

"Having undertaken a number of site visits to other staff restaurants within our portfolio, they were confident that we could provide the personal attention and tailored approach they wanted for their staff. "

Chef manager, Simon Mason and his team of three Charlton House staff now manage the stylish staff restaurant with a deli bar, salad bar and coffee bar. The focus is on healthy eating throughout, with everything made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Mason walked away with bronze at Charlton House's National Salon Culinaire, held on Saturday 10th October at Westminster Kingsway College.
