Chichester College has reappointed award-winning food service company Aramark to run its catering services for a further 10 years.

The contract will begin this month and work is already underway to transform the catering site and its facilities.

Phase one of the project has already seen the transformation of the Stop 'n' Shop into the town's first and only 'Subway' restaurant and the introduction of a Costa coffee bar to replace the existing café.

The next phase of the project will see Brinsbury campus receiving a makeover and the Coasters restaurant refurbished.  The kitchen will be redesigned and given a brand new layout and brought up to date with the latest technology and energy saving equipment enabling Aramark to deliver the latest food trends through innovative menus.

In addition, there will be a new live theatre stir-fry wok bar as well as freshly made pizzas and omelettes to complement the wide range of healthy options.

Julie Sleeman, chief operating officer at Chichester College, said: "Due to the success and strong reputation of Chichester College's own catering provision, it is important that any contracted caterer meets a high standard to reflect the overall quality of the food served to staff and students.

"Several of ARAMARK's staff have furthered their own training through the college's hospitality courses and both parties support this type of progression within the partnership."

Mark Faulkner chief operating officer, Aramark, commented: "The success of the initial redevelopment with the introduction of Subway and Costa has exceeded expectation.  We have had queues of students and staff all waiting to sample the food and drink on offer.  It's been extraordinary.

"The key for us has been our experience.  Knowing what different customers want and how to meet and exceed these demands.  We know that innovation and research are vital in today's market.  Consumers are incredibly discerning and that means keeping ahead of the game and looking for ways to constantly evolve and that is what we have focused on doing here, innovating."
