Park visitors managed to sip their way through 62,000 cups of the caffeine boosting drink, while the number of teas sold reached a more modest 47,500 – adding up to 109,500 hot drinks bought by thirsty customers over the course of the Gulliver's 2011 season.
Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver's – which has parks and attractions in Warrington, Matlock and Milton Keynes – believes the figures reflect a shift in the nation's drinking habits.
She said: "Teas and coffees have always given our parents a much-needed energy boost as they enjoy a day out with the kids, but traditionally we've been seen as a nation of tea drinkers and our hot drink sales mirrored that stereotype in previous years.
"With the increasingly number of coffee chains popping up all over the UK, however, it's no surprise that customers are gravitating towards coffee more and more to fuel their family trips."
Gulliver's opens its doors for the 2012 season from February half term.
