Compass’ healthcare business unveils its new identity

20th September 2011, 1:00pm

Compass Group UK and Ireland’s healthcare business, Medirest, has unveiled its new logo which will be rolled out across all of its NHS estate.

Medirest provides patient, staff and visitor catering, retail, industry-leading cleaning and a number of other support services including portering, laundry and helpdesk to more than 30 NHS Trusts.

The new logo features concentric rings to illustrate the many services which Medirest offers, all in a contemporary blue - a colour frequently associated with the healthcare market. The strap line reads, "Performance with heart".

Kevin Hall, marketing director for healthcare, Compass Group UK & Ireland, explained: "Medirest is a market leading provider of support services to hospitals around the world, particularly in the UK, so it was time to update our identity and ensure that it accurately represented what we stand for.

"As a multi-service provider we are constantly adding new products and services to our extensive offer and our identity needs to reflect this.

"In today's budget-constricted market, efficiency is top of the hospital agenda and partnering with outsourced service providers is an increasingly popular way of reducing costs while improving standards and accessing a constant flow of innovation.

"However, in doing so we can't forget what hospitals are all about: saving lives. It's for this reason that we consider compassion so important. Our new-look identity sums this ethos up neatly for our clients, their patients and those looking after them."

Ate recently at cafeteria at Clinic Les Cedres Toulouse. Food overpriced, unrecognisable , overcooked, lukewarm. As I was once a chef for Compass I was dismayed. Most of staff brought their own. I hope the patients receive better. Even McDonald's could do better. What a shame!Christine Goodhew
