The venture, which will trade as Rose Bowl Experience Ltd, will see Compass provide all retail and hospitality food service for The Rose Bowl's match-day and conference & banqueting business which currently attracts up to a quarter of a million visitors per year.
This new venture will also be responsible for the selling of match-day corporate hospitality through Compass' Keith Prowse business as well as selling and marketing the conference and banqueting facilities.
The deal, which forms part of the £48 million redevelopment of The Rose Bowl, was formally announced by The Rose Bowl chairman, Rod Bransgrove at the venue's Showcase event this week [Wednesday 6 April].
Bransgrove, chairman and chief executive at The Rose Bowl, said: "Compass Group UK and Ireland have consistently provided an excellent level of service to The Rose Bowl and our customers for more than a year and we are absolutely delighted to have them on board for a long time to come."
Neil Maclaurin, sales director - sport, leisure and hospitality at Compass Group UK and Ireland, added: "We are delighted to enter into partnership with Rose Bowl plc at this very exciting period in its development, given that the venue will host the first Test Match on the South coast between England and Sri Lanka in June of this year.
"Having worked with the Club on its food service delivery for the last 18 months, we are excited to be adding further services of match-day corporate hospitality and meetings and events under our new commercial arrangement."
