Compass brings together hundreds of suppliers with IGD

On 22 October 2009, Compass Group UK & Ireland’s annual supplier conference will be organised for the first time by food and grocery industry experts IGD, bringing together hundreds of food and non-food suppliers under one roof.

IGD works with many of the country's top retailers but Compass Group is the first contract caterer to work so closely with them to organise such an event for its suppliers.

IGD Trade Briefing, taking place at The Madejski Stadium in Reading, will provide a chance for new and existing food and non-food suppliers to understand the food and support services marketplace, in some cases realising new business opportunities with Compass.

Throughout the day, members of Compass Group's exec team will present their strategic vision for the future of the supply chain, offer insights into the foodservice industry, and the managing directors of each of Compass' businesses will discuss the major growth opportunities in their sectors.

Mike Walden, executive director of Purchasing & Supply Chain at Compass said: "Compass enjoys an excellent relationship with IGD. We hope that at the Trade Briefing current and future suppliers will realise the benefits of IGD and Compass working closely together and they will gain an invaluable insight into the exciting strategic vision of the Compass organisation."

This supplier conference has been running for four years and this year the 'Leadership through Partnership' themed Trade Briefing anticipates an attendance of more than 250 supplier delegates.
