Compass creates new managing director role

17th September 2009, 11:52am

Compass Group UK & Ireland has created a new managing director role which will bring common leadership to its Eurest Services and Restaurant Associates businesses.

Jason Leek, who is currently managing director of Restaurant Associates, will take on responsibility for both the Eurest Services and Restaurant Associates businesses from October 1st this year. He will continue reporting directly to UK & Ireland group managing director Ian El-Mokadem.

Compass is making this change to ensure that both Eurest Services and Restaurant Associates develop clear positions in the market for foodservices in the workplace.  The change also recognises that whilst the individual foodservice offers of the two brands may be different, clients are increasingly looking for broader service offerings within their businesses.

Current Eurest Services managing director Graham Sims will work with Leek to ensure a smooth transition and will then leave Compass Group in the next few weeks.

Commenting on the new appointment Ian El-Mokadem said: "This appointment will ensure our businesses continue to innovate and develop their services in a way that reflects their distinct offers to clients in their individual markets, whilst sharing fully the knowledge and experience that sits at the heart of our business."

Leek added: "We are totally committed to building on the fantastic position of our two leading brands, Eurest Services and Restaurant Associates.  By bringing the two under common leadership, I am certain we can further develop both businesses for the benefit of our clients and future clients."
