Compass is unveiling a meal solution called ‘whole + sum’ to provide a helping hand to customers looking for healthier choices at breakfast and lunch.

Under the concept every meal is made up of three mix and match components, with a promise that no complete dish adds up to more than 500 calories.

Each meal component also comes with full nutritional analysis.

Nick Vadis, Compass UK executive chef, said: "It may be the healthy option, but that doesn't mean it compromises on taste.

"The delicious recipes are bursting with flavour - gone are the days of balanced food tasting bland."

The contractor begins to roll out the concept across its UK and Ireland business this month.

It comprises more than 80 different lunch recipes across all three components, meaning a total of over 200 plate combinations are possible.
