Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust's main entrance is undergoing refurbishment and, with £175,000 investment from Compass, will house a renovated reception and a new retail area where the Costa Coffee outlet will be installed.
Approximately 2,500 visitors a week are expected to sample the range of speciality coffees and sweet and savoury snacks.
Lynn King, business director of retail and specialist markets, at Compass Group said: "The new Costa Coffee café will serve coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and will bring the high street to the hospital. It is this combination of high quality coffee and a high street approach that has proven popular with visitors, staff and patients at other hospitals including the nearby Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. We look forward to the opening at Basingstoke and North Hampshire in the summer."
Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust will benefit from the rental and shared revenue of the Costa Coffee outlet.
