Contract caterer Aramark raises over £85k for Children in Need

8th December 2009, 11:29am

Aramark has raised a staggering £85,000 for Children in Need (and this is still rising), smashing last year's total by over £13,000.

The cheque was presented to Terry Wogan live on TV by Aramark's Joanna Walmsley on the broadcasted programme. In addition, Aramark also provided the catering, including a range of traditional British finger food for all guests, fundraisers and celebrities at the evening party.

Val Carter, Aramark corporate responsibility director, commented on their achievement: "Our customers, clients and employees across the entire UK operation have worked tirelessly to support this worthy cause and each year we achieve impressive results, but this year has been exceptional.

"The whole company fully supported the charity, by not only selling a record amount of official merchandise but by also finding ways to have fun as well as raise money.  Thanks to the support of the BBC, we were able to take Pudsey on the road this year - he visited schools and businesses across the UK with our employees.

"There has certainly been a noticeable buzz around the business this month. The commitment shown across the board has been staggering and as a result we have made the decision to make Children in Need our charity of the year for 2010."
