The pump at Ha Mareka Tsheoneng village in Lesotho
Money raised from the water sales has funded a 'playpump' in the village of Ha Mareka Tsheoneng in Lesotho.
It is a children's play wheel for the village's 500 schoolchildren to play on, but the wheel also acts as a pump taking water from the well below the playwheel and depositing it in a new water storage tower.
Wendy Bartlett, Bartlett Mitchell's managing director, says the project, in partnership with OneWater and supplier Peros, has proved to be very rewarding for the contractor's staff and customers alike.
She added: "We're delighted that our team and customers bought into the concept and have been keen to move their water purchases to OneWater.
"This has meant that we have achieved something immensely positive as a result. We're now well on track to achieving our second well and the stories and feedback we've had from Lesotho have been truly heartwarming – it just shows how small changes in buying behaviour here can have a hugely positive impact on people less fortunate thousands of miles away."
