Some of the nutrition champs
The role of the nutrition champion is to be involved in promoting 'Healthwise', being on hand to facilitate any nutritional queries that may arise from within their area, assisting the business in ensuring the allergen process and procedures are adhered to, and being responsible for distributing nutritional collateral within their area.
As part of the programme, the team will also receive specialist training from Wan Mak, head of nutrition and dietetics, where they will learn about nutrition and special diets and achieve a formal NVQ level 2 in nutrition.
Mak said: "We are delighted to have appointed such an enthusiastic group of nutrition champions. They will play a crucial role in helping us communicate and re-enforce the company's commitment to nutrition, health and well being"
Andrew Flood, who was recently selected as a nutrition champion, added: "This programme demonstrates the value the company places on health and well-being. It not only adds value to the company, but we gain something from it to and I'm really pleased to be given this opportunity."
