The Association of Catering Excellence organised the awards with Two Services Ltd, a kitchen hygiene company.
Caterers from within London and the Home Counties were asked to nominate their cleanest kitchens, which were then judged on a whole set of criteria ranging from the actual cleanliness of the facilities to the actual procedures laid down to ensure compliance with all food safety requirements.
In first place was Lingfield Notre Dame Senior School run by Holroyd Howe Independent who received a cheque for £1,500 plus a stainless steel plaque.
Second place went to Abbott Diabetes Care Ltd run by Autograph Foodservice who received a cheque for £1,000 and third place was Network Rail Infrastructure run by Charlton House who received a cheque for £750.
