Global chief executive Joseph Neubauer: Operating with integrity is part of our company's mission

Contractor Aramark wins ethical recognition

International facilities management company Aramark has been named one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute.

The Ethisphere Institute is a leading international think-tank dedicated to best practices in business ethics, corporate responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability.

For its 2010 list, the Ethisphere Institute received a record number of nominations and ranked thousands of companies from more than 100 countries and across 36 industries.

Companies are evaluated according to seven categories: Corporate Citizenship and Responsibility; Corporate Governance; Innovation that Contributes to the Public Well Being; Industry Leadership; ExecutiveLeadership; Legal, Regulatory and Reputation Track Record; and Internal Systems and Ethics/Compliance Programme.

"This honour is a testament to the commitment and conduct of all of our teams globally," said Joseph Neubauer, chairman and chief executive Aramark.

"Operating with integrity has been a part of our company's mission and culture for nearly 75 years. Our history of growth and success demonstrates that by conducting our business in an ethical and responsible manner, we deliver real value for our clients, our customers, our communities, and our stakeholders."

Aramark operates worldwide across a range of sectors, including business and industry, defence, education, healthcare, and offshore.

Its operation in the UK employs more than 12,500 employees working for clients providing business dining, staff restaurants, retail facilities and coffee outlets throughout the UK.
