Costa Coffee opens its 2000th store in Leeds

Costa Coffee has announced the opening of its 2000th store this week in the centre of Leeds.

Costa operates across 25 international markets.  In the first six months of the year Costa opened 145 stores around the world, including stores in China and India and is planning to open around 300 stores worldwide this year.  

Costa has a growth programme targeting 3,500 stores globally by 2015/16.

Its 2000th store is at the Leeds Briggate which is also the first site outside of London to have the new look 'Metropolitan' design.  The opening has created 20 new jobs in Leeds.

John Derkach, managing director of Costa, said:  "Costa is enjoying fantastic growth both in the UK and overseas.  We're delighted to have reached this milestone of 2000 stores around the world as we strive to make Costa the world's favourite coffee shop brand."
