Costa Coffee store at Spectrum wins café of the year

18th April 2008, 10:18am

The Costa Coffee at Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex, which is managed by Compass UK & Ireland, has been awarded ‘Costa Corporate Franchise Store of the Year’ at Costa’s biggest ever conference.

Guildford Spectrum leisure complex, which boasts facilities including ice skating to swimming, caters for up to 7000 customers a day.

Marlies Hoogeboom, Compass' general manager for the contract and her team were absolutely delighted with the award as they saw off competition from other Costa corporate franchise from across the country.

The winning store was measured on a range of tough criteria; from brand standards and excellence of the coffee to general performance.

Marlies Hoogeboom said: "This is a great achievement for the team who have put a huge amount of hard work to make the Costa store successful. The results speak for themselves, when you get the offer and the service right, the customers will follow."

The café at Guildford Spectrum underwent the move to Costa back in February '07 and since its full refit in August '07 results have shown sales have doubled.
