David Fairhurst, vice president/chief people officer at McDonald's Restaurants Northern Europe and chair of People 1st, has been voted HR Magazine's most influential practitioner for the third year running.

Fairhurst topped the list as HR Magazine announced its top 30 HR practitioners at a ceremony at Claridge's, London, yesterday (13 September).

One commentator said: "This person has done a lot of work in putting out there an evidence base for the power of good HR practice, which has done a lot to boost the credibility of what we do."

Brian Wisdom, chief executive of People 1st, commented: "To be named HR's most influential practitioner for three consecutive years is a fantastic achievement. David epitomises how impactful HR can be when it is led with such strategic vision, and I would like to congratulate him on this well-deserved accolade."
