Delia’s Canary Catering wins Director’s Choice

29th May 2008, 2:27pm

Norwich City Football Club’s catering arm Delia’s Canary Catering has won the Director’s Choice in the Championship Award at the Official Football Hospitality Awards 2008.

Visiting football club directors in the Championship football league voted for the best hospitality they had received when travelling to away matches.

Ex-Leicester player Alan Birchenall MBE, Liverpool player Jimmy Case and Snooker champion Mark Selby presented the award to Delia's Canary catering event coordinators Victoria Hodds and Clare Jordon, as well as business development executive Rebecca Downie.

Norwich City major shareholder Delia Smith is delighted to win the accolade: "So often people forget about the people in the background at a football club, with the spotlight usually on the football team, but all of our catering and hospitality team work so hard on matchdays (and non-matchdays!) so it is fantastic that their dedication has been recognised."

Norwich City Football Club was also nominated for the Conference and Events Marketing Award.

The awards, hosted and organised by the Stadium Experience group, was held on 22 May at The Walkers Stadium, and was attended by catering teams from the English and Scottish football leagues.
