Discovery Chipotle Paste adds smoky flavour

24th August 2007, 12:57pm

Mexican food brand, Discovery, has introduced new Discovery Chipotle Paste, a rich food flavouring that adds a deliciously hot and smoky taste to everything from Mexican classics like chilli con carne to everyday foods such as beans on toast and pasta sauces.

Discovery Chipotle Paste is made from smoke-dried jalapeno peppers and is highly popular in Mexican cooking. It gives dishes a lively, chilli flavour with a smoky, barbecued hint.

James Bennett, Discovery's head of marketing, said: "Earlier in the year, we introduced a new brand identity and strap-line, More Adventurous Tastes, to better reflect the flavour of our products and the personalities of our customers. Chipotle Paste is one of our new 'adventurous tastes' products. We believe its versatility will appeal to food lovers who like to try something different in the kitchen and experiment with different dishes and flavours.

"Our Chipotle Paste is incredibly rich and flavoursome so you only need half a teaspoon or so to infuse that smoky, spicy taste. It gives traditional Mexican dishes extra richness and more of a kick. But it's endlessly versatile so you can also stir it into soups, casseroles or pasta sauces. You can even mix a little into cr? fraiche to create an unusual, tasty dip."

A 100g jar of Discovery Chipotle Paste costs around £1.49 (RSP) and is available from leading supermarkets.
