Construction company Carillion has extended its contract with ESS for RAF Spadeadam for another four years. The contract, worth £1.4 million in total, includes catering and cleaning for approximately 250 military personnel at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria, where ESS has been on site for over five years.
The renewed contract at RAF has been followed by news that Arborfield, home to the Army's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, has extended its contract with ESS for another two years.
Having worked with Arborfield for over 10 years, ESS will continue to provide a host of services including: catering, cleaning, general refuse, hazardous waste disposal, road sweeping, tailoring, shoe repair, laundry, domestic assistance and window cleaning. The total value of the contract extension is £5.5 million.
Ian Sarson, managing director, specialist markets at Compass Group, said: "ESS' recent success with retaining and winning contracts demonstrates our dedication to the defence sector and our ability to understand its needs. We are delighted to extend our contracts and will continue to strive for excellence in all areas."
ESS has also recently been awarded a Silver Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Award, recognising its commitment to health and safety. Silver RoSPA Awards are given to companies that have achieved a high level of performance underpinned by good management systems. This was the first year in which ESS has entered the RoSPA Awards.
