Name of awarding authority: East Ayrshire Council.

Brief description of terms: UK-Kilmarnock: supply & delivery of fresh/organic foodstuffs. The Council has extended the Scottish Government's initiative 'Hungry for Success', which is designed to promote healthy eating within schools by using a wider range of fresh and organic food in the school meals. The Council is in the process of extending the provision of the fresh/organic food to all its primary schools, and may extend to secondary schools at some time over the next few years.

Value: Variable quantities with a current estimated annual value of circa 250,000 GBP over all lots. Currently the requirement covers 30 primary schools. The requirement may be extended to cover further primary schools and the secondary schools (total of 9) at some time in the future.

Length: The contract is for a period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further one year at the sole discretion of the Council.
