Eurest retains National Grid contract

National Grid has announced that Eurest Services has not only retained its catering contract across twelve UK sites, but that they have additionally won the support services business.

This represents the largest contract win since the launch of Eurest Services in November 2008.

The contract is worth £63 million in revenue over a five year period and follows a competitive bid process where six other companies were short listed.

The new contract encompasses up to 579 sites including: catering on 13 sites, security services on 38, cleaning on 151, portering on 18, reception services on 22, vending services on 293, and key holding services on 290.

Adrian Lawton, Head of Property Management, National Grid, said: "Throughout the tender process the Eurest Services bid team consistently demonstrated a "can do" approach to everything that we asked for. In this particular sector, whilst price is clearly important, it is more about "feeling" confident that the services can actually be delivered.
