FFB export awards open for entry

7th August 2008, 3:56pm

Hot on the heels of the UK’s latest record-breaking food and drink export figures, the Food from Britain (FFB) Export Awards 2008 are now open for entry.

Taking place at the Landmark London Hotel on 10 December 2008, the awards recognise and reward outstanding achievement by UK food and drink organisations in developing their business overseas.

They will be presented in six separate categories this year:

Food Exporter of the Year (split into two categories: Large and SME)
Drink Exporter of the Year
New Exporter of the Year (sponsored by UK Trade & Investment)
Innovation in Export (sponsored by IFE 09)
Exhibitor of the Year award (sponsored by Primo Group)
Food and Drink Exporter of the Year 2008

John Adams, Chief Executive Officer at Food from Britain: "The 2008 export awards will be as competitive as ever. While prospects in domestic markets may be uncertain, many UK food and drink companies are tapping into the potential that exporting can offer. Their success is reflected in the recently announced export figures for 2007 and the signs are that growth is continuing in 2008. We are encouraging as many of these organisations as possible to enter the export awards so they can be recognised for these outstanding efforts."

To enter the awards, visit the Food from Britain website, www.foodfrombritain.com and follow the links to the awards home page.
