

Clive D-Angelo Smith Martin Thomas Lindley Group Ffos Las- Piper Heidseick National Racecourse Catering Awards 2010
Lindley Group, which has been operating in the racecourse sector since 2006 now has catering contracts for five of 10 courses run by The Northern Racing Group, was also shortlisted in three other award categories:
● The Owners & Trainers Restaurant also at Ffos Las was shortlisted for Best Casual Dining Experience at a Racecourse;
● Green's Brasserie at Bath shortlisted for the Best Fine Dining Experience at a Racecourse;
● The Bath Ales Bar also at Bath was shortlisted for the Best Bar Award.
The judges singled out the Bridles Restaurant at the newly constructed Ffos Las racecourse which opened its doors to the public for its first meeting last summer, for its innovative approach, high quality of service and the focus it has given to incorporating local produce on the menus.
Paula Street, Lindley Group's Area Manager – South West and the Lindley catering and hospitality teams from The Northern Racing Group's Ffos Las and Bath racecourses, collected their award and celebrated their win at the 20th Anniversary of the annual Merbury Caterers' Day held this year Goodwood Racecourse.
On receiving the award, a delighted Paula Street said: "Ffos Las is the first new racecourse to be built in the UK for 80 years and we wanted to create a fresh, contemporary and truly unique dining experience offering innovative and exciting menus reflecting the very best of local and seasonal produce.
"Winning this award is a real tribute and a tangible recognition that the team has achieved its aims, and that the dishes developed by Clive D'Angelo-Smith, Head Chef, in conjunction with Matthew Thomas, the General Manager at Ffos Las, have that 'wow' factor and a real a point of difference."
Tim Long, Ffos Las Racecourse's General Manager and Clerk of the Course, said: "As a racecourse, we take great pride in our use of local produce. Our caterer, the Lindley Group, focuses on making the most of the very best of local food and drink, and, of course, they employ local people. At a venue such as ours, food and service must be of the highest quality, and Lindley has delivered this in abundance in the Bridles Restaurant."
