The award recognised the company's support for Steven Harold who has been working as a kitchen porter for ISS Eaton for more than 14 months as part of its Hewlett Packard Contract at Erskine. Harold suffered a serious head injury several years ago. His injuries resulted in severe short term memory loss and returning to the world of work proved difficult. However, ISS Eaton gave him the opportunity of a full time position within the kitchens.
The accolades recognised the time and dedication that ISS Eaton continues to offer Harold on a day-to-day basis; supporting his well-being and continued personal development. This includes offering Harold opportunities to progress within the company and allowing him to work at his own speed.
Simon Titchener, managing director of ISS Eaton expressed his delight: "Being named as 'The Overall Winner' at the recent Inverclyde & Renfrewshire Business Diversity Awards Ceremony was a real honour for our team and is testimony to the company's ethos for employing the best people for the job and those who will match the team dynamics, regardless of their circumstances.
"Steven offers tremendous dedication and has become an integral part of the team here at ISS Eaton. As with all other members of staff, we will continue to reward his hard work and provide him with the right tools to progress within the company at a pace that suits him."
