First national stadium contract for Elior's Azure

16th April 2009, 4:21pm

Azure, part of Elior UK, has secured its first national stadium catering contract for Scotland's Murrayfield Stadium.

Murrayfield is the largest stadium in Scotland and one of the largest in the United Kingdom.

The contract win was the result of a tender process initiated by Scottish Rugby in Autumn 2008.

It was followed by presentations from shortlisted caterers which included the incumbent Sodexo with a decision made to appoint Azure from the finalists.

Azure will be providing the whole spectrum of catering for the 67,000 capacity stadium in Edinburgh, ranging from snacks for spectators through to hospitality packages and conferences which will be provided both on and outside of matchdays.

Eamon Hegarty, Scottish Rugby's Finance Director commented: "Azure proved throughout this process it has the knowledge and experience we require to deliver the standard of catering expected at a venue as iconic as Murrayfield. We were particularly impressed by the consistency and strength of the team in Scotland and have every confidence the partnership will prove to be strong and rewarding on both sides".

Adam Elliott, Azure Managing Director said of the win: "This is a fantastic endorsement of the hard work of the Azure team in Scotland. Our expertise, professionalism and passion for this market ensured we were able to meet the complex requirements and high standards of a stadium with the reputation and
international standing of Murrayfield. We are delighted to have been appointed and look forward to working in partnership with Scottish Rugby over the next three years and beyond."
