Foods Matter launches 2009 awards

Foods Matter, the food allergy and intolerance magazine, has announced the launch of the 2009 awards, sponsored this year by Livwell suppliers.

This year there will be 12 categories, covering foods which have been tasted and judged at the monthly Foods Matter food panels. Companies will be competing for the FAIR FreeFrom Food Trophy for the best free-from food 2009.

 

In addition, there will be an innovation category for the most exciting new free-from food.

 

As last year, the awards ceremony will take place during Allergy Week in May at Antony Worrall Thompson's Notting Grill in West London.

 

The categories are:

 

Dairy (cow's milk) free 'milk' and yogurt

Dairy (cow's milk) free butter, spread and cheese

Dairy and/or gluten-free ice cream, puddings and desserts

Dairy and/or gluten-free chocolate, confectionary and cereal bars

Gluten-free breads and bread mixes

Gluten-free pastas, pizzas and pizza bases

Gluten-free pies, flans and savoury sauces

Gluten-free cakes, muffins and sweet biscuits

Gluten-free savoury biscuits and snacks

Wheat-free in all the tastings

Egg-free in all the tasings

Nut-free in all the tastings
