Diplomas are sector-related qualifications that form part of the Government's education and skills reform agenda for 14 to 19-year-olds.
The Diploma in Hospitality will be delivered in schools and colleges for the first time in September 2009.
Employer involvement is crucial to the success of the Diploma, and schools and colleges need to involve them in preparation and delivery so young people can learn about the sector through realistic and current application of knowledge and skills gained in the classroom.
This approach is vital not only to the success of the Diploma, but ultimately in preparing young people with the skills to enter employment in the hospitality industry.
People 1st's free event, including lunch, will provide employers with more information on the Diploma, and how they can contribute to its success.
