Like all Dairystix products, Half Cream is made from 100% Farm Assured milk and has no additives. It is also the first Dairystix product to carry the Red Tractor logo on the actual portions – the milk varieties will follow shortly in featuring the logo. There are 200 portions to a case with a total shelf life of six months – needing no refrigeration.
The market, estimated to be worth around 2 billion portions, is now seeing a significant shift away from the traditional plastic jigger pots to the Dairystix milk in a stick format, which is more friendly to the environment, cost efficient and easier to use. Operationally, Dairystix fit well with sugar and sauces in stick format – from table top to hotel bedroom.
Major customers have embraced Dairystix from all sectors, including travel, high street and local authorities. With educational table talkers freely available, consumers can now understand the practical and environmental benefits to be gained by switching to Dairystix.
Reasons Why Customers are Switching from Jiggers to Dairystix:
The stick packaging is friendlier to the environment than traditional plastic jigger pots.
50% less packaging waste to landfill
This eliminates approx 1 tonne of packaging waste for every 10,000 cases of product (1 pallet per week, over a year = 1 tonne landfill eliminated) 2 million portions switched eliminates 1 tonne of landfill
Up to 40% less space in storage and transit
Less bulk means less storage space and lorries on the road delivering, adding up to huge reductions in transport journeys, fuel and CO2 emissions.
Andrew Gibb, Marketing Controller at Single Source, comments, "Dairystix has brought new competition and innovation to a staid market dominated by jiggers. A switch to Dairystix offers customers measurable financial benefits, while enabling them to make an environmental contribution, by reducing landfill and CO2 emissions. The airline industry in particular gains the most, where space is at a premium and fuel costs can be reduced. Many major companies are now publicly pledging to reduce waste so Dairystix offers an easy win."
He continues, "From a consumer point of view, the stick format provides a sleek, tactile, robust pack which is easy to open and pour. There is a feature restricting the opening so the milk & half cream pours out gently, thus reducing leakage even when laid down. It's a winning proposition, which is why Dairystix is doing so well."
