Harrison Catering cook wins School Link Dinner of Year title

26th September 2008, 3:23pm

Ellen Gahan, Harrison Catering's cook at South Hampstead High School, has been crowned this year's School Link Dinner Lady of the Year title.

Gahan received her award from Nora Sands, a dinner lady made famous by the Jamie Oliver series, Jamie's School Dinners, at a ceremony held at the school earlier this month.

As well as winning the title, the school has won £2,000 worth of books from the award sponsors.

Hannah Carlton-Robinson, who manages the contract for Harrison, commented on the award: "Ellen has adapted quickly to our new menus and produces a consistently high quality of food and service for the school. Ellen is a fantastic cook, and it's great that her hard work has been recognised in this way."

The award comes just one year after Harrison took over the contract.
