The City-based restaurant High Timber, which opened in March last year, is celebrating the start of the grouse season with the launch of its latest offer which runs until December.

The owner of the restaurant, Neleen Strauss, has prepared the exclusive dining table in the restaurant's cellar for four diners where they will be treated to food and drink at a reduced price.

The diners, who must book one week in advance to guarantee their reservation, will be served grouse accompanied by a bottle of what Strauss describes as "the world's finest Burgundian Domain; Domaine Romanee Conti, the Grand Echezeaux. - arguably one of the world's best wines."

The four-person meal is being offered at the reduced price of £1050, which is said to be "well under the normal price" with the wine alone usually selling for around "£1900 a bottle".

Strauss said: "I use these words very carefully when I say this is the opportunity of a lifetime to experience a wine with such an incredible – and well deserved – reputation."
