As part of the contract worth £4 million in revenue a year, students at Highbury College's two campuses have access to a variety of new food offerings on-site rather than having to leave the College, including: coffee and cakes from Costa Coffee, traditional French baguettes from TouJours and sub-style sandwiches from Mondo Subs.
Students will also be able to experience food from around the world in a cooking theatre in WorldMarché, which will allow students to create their own meals, choosing ingredients, herbs and spices for Chartwells' chefs to cook on the spot.
The food offering promotes fresh and healthy eating and also encourages students to try new foods and combinations.
Chartwells is upgrading facilities to support the College's £35 million new build project in Highbury Campus. The College caters for 2,500 full time and 8,500 part time students across two campuses.
Tony Byrne, business director at Chartwells, said: "Many students work part-time to fund their studies, heading straight to work after a day at college. For these students, being able to have a healthy and hearty meal on-site is really important. Value for money is also paramount. At Highbury College, Chartwells is catering for every student's needs, tastes and budget while ensuring meals are nutritious."
