Horizons broadens with new acquisition

18th December 2008, 12:10pm

Peter Backman, managing director of foodservice analyst Horizons has announced the acquisition of catering and consumer tracking products Menurama and QuickBite from FMCG Ltd.

Menurama provides a regularly updated database of menus across the UK's top 100 multiple and branded foodservices operators and leading independents.

The product tracks food and pricing trends providing insight to newly emerging food styles, discontinued dishes and menu prices across the country.

The data is updated biannually and is used by foodservice operators, wholesalers and food manufacturers to enhance their knowledge of the eating out sector and food trends.

QuickBite is a quarterly survey of 1,000 consumers examining the eating out sector. QuickBite provides analysis by outlet and type as well as consumer attitudes to eating out, various food issues and food preferences.

"The acquisition of Menurama and QuickBite provides a welcome addition to the data already collected by Horizons on a regular basis," commented Peter Backman. "Both products give us the opportunity to track trends in the sector even more frequently as well as the benefit of quantitative and qualitative consumer opinion."

Customers of the two products, which were both established in 2003, will experience no interruption to service – the next editions of Menurama and QuickBite will be delivered as usual.

For information about either of the two products please call Peter Backman at Horizons on 07785 242809 or email Peter@horizonsforsuccess.com
