Hospitality Diploma goes online

26th March 2008, 4:21pm

A website dedicated to the Hospitality Diploma has been launched, offering an authoritative information source for the new training course that will be introduced to schools and colleges from September 2009.

The site is arranged in different sections targeted at students and parents, employers, colleges and places of higher education, ensuring all parties understand the benefits and features of the new Hospitality Diploma, which forms part of the government's education reforms for 14-19 year olds.

In total there will be 17 Diplomas introduced during the next few years to provide school children aged from 14 with an alternative to the usual academic route.

The Hospitality Diploma will be available in the following levels: Foundation (Level 1) equivalent to five GCSEs; Higher (Level 2) equivalent to seven GCSEs; and Advanced (Level 3) equivalent to three and a half A levels.
