Ian Sarson named new group managing director for Compass

Ian Sarson has been appointed as group managing director for Compass Group UK and Ireland, effective from April.

Sarson has developed his career within the food, support services and hospitality sectors, including a spell in Asia. As managing director for Specialist Markets, he has played a key role on the UK and Ireland leadership team, developing the business in Specialist Markets, including healthcare and education.

Sarson will report directly to Richard Cousins, group chief executive and join the group executive committee.

Sarson's appointment comes as a result of Ian El-Mokadem's decision to leave Compass, after a period of four years.

Cousins commented: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ian El-Mokadem for his hard work, passion and energy over the past four years and wish both Ians every success in their careers going forward."
