Increased demand for GVS Assist sparks launch of new operations centre

20th July 2010, 12:22pm

GVS Assist, the national supplier and maintainer of automatic tea, coffee and snack machines has opened a new operations centre in Castleford.

GVS Assist, which was established in the 1920's began as the UK arm of the major vending company Wittenborg before gaining its independence in 1995 and becoming what it describes as "the UK's leading provider in servicing for the industry."

The opening of the new site which will be the third acquisition for the company which has existing sites in Smallfield and Normanton, follows the company's growth in demand and acquirement of "several major contracts" over the past year that have necessitated the opening of new premises.

GVS Assist, who employ more than 200 people across the UK, has revealed that despite the recession, the company has gone from strength to strength and expanded "significantly" over the past year. The opening of the new Castleford site has been deemed "strategically important both in terms of transport links and local employment".

Managing director for GVS Assist, Debbie Mann, said: "We are committed to building on our core values and rich heritage as an industry leader. We remain driven to provide outstanding levels of customer service across the whole organisation and our quest for quality continues to be strong.

"The Castleford site will allow us to provide a vital base that can easily access any part of the UK to meet customer demand."
